Representational (some from tutorials) (less realistic)

This was a self-directed exercise in learning about values. Using Autodesk Sketchpad, I used the eyedropper tool of various parts of the reference image (an attribution-not-required photo I found online) to find the color for each portion. Then I kept the same value (brightness/darkness number) but changed the color to purple, which is my favorite color.

I learned about the importance of value (how it is more important for realism/representation than color) relatively recently, which showed me how much art knowledge there is out there that I didn't know, which reminds me to keep learning. I actually had learned that lesson (possibly without realizing it) in high school (in the early 2000s) when I took a screen printing class and saw how simplifying images to a few layers of values can look relatively realistic even without much detail. So this exercise and other similar ones reinforced that lesson.
